The Quest Compilation (WIP Mod) - If You Want To Help

If you'd like to help with the creation of the Quest Compilation, read on.

I'm currently working on a mod called the Quest Compilation. You can find more about it here. I'm handling all the quest creation, scripting, NPC creation, and I've created the mod page. I fully intend to continue doing all of that by myself. However, I'm not capable in every aspect of mod creation.

There are three things I can't do by myself: Voice-acting, level design, mesh creation and texture creation. If you want to help me with any of those, you can email me at matthiaswagg@gmail.com, or you can PM me on the Nexus. (My username is Matthiaswagg.)

I would credit every one of you on the mod page, I promise. Lots.

Each section is divided into a category on this post, where I say what I've already done, and what I need/want. Anything marked with an asterisk (*) is necessary for me to continue a quest. Anything else is wanted, but I can still create a quest without it. Everything in blue has been completed, everything in orange is being actively worked on, and everything in green will be worked on later. For jobs needed, blue is taken, orange is being worked out (there may or may not be someone who will do it) and green is open.

Voice Acting

I've already got four voice actors working for me, most of which are people I know personally, rather than voice actors from the Nexus. While they can cover all the races, as well as both genders, there is far less variety in the voices than I would like. I have two male voice actors, one older and one younger, and they can both do a fairly wide range of voices. I have one female voice actor I can count on, as well as one that only occasionally has time to do work for me. The voices I currently need covered are:
  • Male breton - 120 lines of dialogue
  • Older male nord - 100-130 lines of dialogue
  • Male khajiit - 30-40 lines of dialogue
Note: If you apply, then I need you to be ready to fully commit to the voice acting job. If I ask you to redo something, you will need to redo it. I promise not to ask you to redo anything unless it really doesn't work. You will also need to attach a sample to your application email. The email should state the job you're applying for, as well as your Nexus account username (if you have one). I may not accept everyone.

Level Design

The Quest Compilation focuses on creating new, unique and interesting quests, which is difficult when you're only using default locations. I've been learning more about level design, but the result usually ends up as a boring, one-room cave with seams everywhere that takes hours to fix into something remotely usable. Even one good level designer would be a great help. The dungeons I need/would like to have are:

  • Abandoned Dwemer tower (design like Reachwind Eyrie) - Exterior and Interior. Placed to the west of Markarth.
  • Two-room cave system - Interior only. It's a hideout for bandits, so if you cluttered it, it would have beds and such. The first room is bigger, and for the main bandits (4 of them) and the smaller room is for the boss. The smaller room has his bed and a study.
Note: If you create something on the list labeled Interior, don't place an exterior location. I'll do that myself, since some locations need to be in certain spots for quests, and I prefer to do that on my own. If you could navmesh and clutter them that would be great, but I can do that myself if necessary. If I do clutter/navmesh the dungeon, that will be noted on the mod page, so I will get partial credit for doing that, and you will get the rest of the credit. So please do, it's really helpful.

Textures and Meshes

Currently, I've just been asking for permission from a ton of mod creators for use of their textures. It's been working pretty well so far, and I've got a few great textures + meshes. The issue with that is some people will have installed the mods that contain those textures. They'll see one of the unique weapons from my mod and go "Oh, look, another Steel Bow." I want mine to be as unique as possible, so having mesh/texture creators on hand is good for variety and for making the unique textures really unique. It also helps so I can find something more specific to what I need. The list of what I need is:
  • Engraved elven sword - The sword would look the exact same as the vanilla one, but it would have some runes engraved into both sides of the blade. The runes could be in any language, as long as there are more than three of them. (Preferably six or seven.) Mesh and texture.
  • Round elven shield - It would be a more circular version of the elven shield, but with the same metal and the same look. Something like this, but in elven metal with a more elven/Skyrimy look. Mesh and texture.
  • A linen-wrapped package. It would have to be big enough to contain a one-handed sword - this is not a container, it's just a mesh and texture.
  • Cutlass - Something like this, or the original Oblivion steel cutlass texture. Scabbard not needed, but it would be cool if it was included too. Mesh and texture.
Note: If you create a meshed and textured item, a screenshot would be really helpful in your application letter.

Even if you can't do any of those things, showing support for the development of this mod would be great. I've been working really hard on it, so encouragement is always appreciated.
